I had one for 11 years. Great bullet proof machine. Pics of the one I had. Both of the same bike. You won't need a warrenty with the XJR.. Take a look around the xjroc forum. YAMAHA XJR OWNERS CLUB ? Portal View attachment 18555 View attachment 18556
Thanks Jon. Sat on one today - have fancied one for a couple of years now. They do look good with a bit of custom paint. This one is black and gunmetal. Hoping that my 749 sells on eBay this week, then I think I'll have one. Which will mean I have to pay your petrol if you do Le Mans in May.

Mate of mine got one. He's done around 40K on it over the last 10 years. No problems at all, and it's been ridden in all weathers/conditions. It is getting a bit tatty, but it's still mechanically sound.

Did 31,000 mile without any problems what so ever. They pull like a express train. If you do get one there are couple of good little mods to look at which make them a little bit special. 1. 4 degree ignition advancer. 2. Extra clutch spring. 3. 36Y inlet rubbers.

I'm liking this one with powder coated wheels.

I too had an XJR for a couple of years; I first met Jon.F and Julian (CB1000R) through the XJROC! As Jon has already said, they pull like a train and are bombproof with it. But don't expect CB1000R handling. It takes some bullying round corners but its a very satisfying ride. Jon already posted a link for the XJROC; have a look in, they're a good bunch.
